Wonderful Wickwoods Country Club Wedding With Wild Dirty Dancing Action!

You’ve done an amazing job thank you SO much! Thank you Liza for capturing the most special moments and for being part of a day we’ll remember forever! We were lucky enough to secure Liza for our wedding in October 2021. It was an absolute joy getting to know Liza who is such a relaxed and friendly person. We loved Liza’s style of unposed relaxed photography and were delighted with the wonderful shots of our special day. They look incredible.

Josephine and Josh X

Josie & Josh’s Lovely Wickwoods Country Club Wedding (despite the rain!)

It was so lovely to meet Josie and Josh and to photograph their stunning Wickwoods Country Club Wedding in Brighton. This gorgeous couple who met at work, wanted a lovely relaxed wedding day full of family and fun. They got married in October and had a gorgeous autumnal theme for their day, with loads of oranges and brown. They had mentioned when we first chatted that they loved how I captured colour and how important that was to them. Well, considering they got married on a very wet, autumnal, October day their choice of gorgeous autumnal tones certainly stood out on the day and looked stunning.

Ceremony at Sacred Heart Church, Hove

I had never been to this beautiful Grade II listed church before. The ceiling decorations and stained glass windows blew me away. I made a mad dash inside to escape the torrential rain and simply had to take a photo.

Josh and his merry men arrived soon after and busied themselves sorting out flowers, buttonholes and looking after the crowds of bridesmaids, flower girls, ring bearers and guests that arrived in a steady flow in from the rain! There was an excited, loud buzz as everyone readied themselves. Eventually after everyone had, said their hellos, collected their flowers and squeezed in a little walking down the aisle practice it was time!

Josie’s car arrived. Josie looked simply stunning in her Wed2B dress. After some last minute touches it was time to make her entrance. Josh nervously waited. The cutest ring bearing lads, fair sprinted down the aisle, closely followed by the flower girls and bridesmaids. Josie was walked down by her Grandad and it really was one of those gorgeous special moments as they came in.

It was a lovely ceremony with plenty of hymns and singing, and readings, in the church close to Josie’s heart.

Back to Wickwoods Country Club

The rain put the stops on any chance of confetti shots and I decided with the weather report looking like it did, light fast disappearing the best place for the group photos would be inside the lovely church itself, which Father Colin was really fabulous about. Then a few atomospheric pix of Josh and Josie in the Church and it was time to head to Wickwoods to catch up with their guests.

Couple Photos inside!

Like most of my couples Josie and Josh weren’t fussed on spending too long on their couple photos. They were keen for more natural, fun unposed photos. Whilst all their guests were taking their seats for the reception meal, we had time to snatch a few relaxed shots inside Wickwoods itself. The rain put paid to any chance of a wander outside! But it didn’t matter the friendly staff at Wickwoods moved abit of furniture around and we had plenty of space to take some gorgeous, relaxed shots.

Evening Party Shenanigans

After a gorgeous meal, some uplifting speeches, it was time to cut the cake from Rachel’s Cakes Brighton and have their first dance, and then….let the party begin!

This was one part of the day the couple were particulary looking forward to and it was lovely to see two families and friends joining together to let their hair down and celebrate 100% with the couple.

Sounds of Brighton supplied the wicked tunes which Josh had selected on his own playlist and the dance floor was heaving all night. I have never seen so many fabulous reinactments of Johnny and Baby’s famous dance lift of the all time classic and long time favourite tune of mine “Time of my Life”. Guys you all did Johnny and Baby proud! (and full effort marks to the groomsmen who ended up on the dance floor after their attempt at the famous lift!

Gorgeous sparkler moments followed and more dirty dancing moves! What an awesome day and night Josie and Josh. Thank you so much for having me as your Wickwoods Country Club Wedding Photographer. I loved every minute of your day and meeting your friends and family.
