Dreamy romantic Brighton Pavilion Wedding

“Liza, we’ve just had a chance to start looking at them, they look incredible! Thank you soooo much. We loved your professionalism, you got rave reviews from the guests too”! “Liza has been so helpful since the very beginning, asking and help planning with things we wouldn’t even think of.  During the day Liza was almost invisible, but always there capturing the right moment or directing people for the perfect group shots.  Organising the wedding is quite stressful, but with Liza we felt that photography was one of the things we didn’t have to worry at all.  Wholeheartedly recommend Liza”!!!

Antonino & Caroline

Pandemic Brighton Pavilion Wedding – not for the faint hearted!

When lovely outdoorsie Brighton couple got in touch to enquire about their Brighton Pavilion Wedding they didn’t know exactly how it would pan out in the midst of COVID. There was some light on the horizon leading into summer but still a heap of uncertainty as to whether Italian Antonino’s family would actually be able to travel over ok from Sicily for the wedding and successfully navigate all the new set of restrictions and challenges that international travel bought. But they were determined none the less, like so many other couples over the last couple of years to make it happen and to have a lovely time celebrating their marriage with closest family and friends.

Both Antonino and Caroline did not like being the centre of attention and really liked the idea of a more natural, relaxed style of photography to document their special day. As soon as we chatted I knew I was going to get on super well with this friendly gorgeous couple.

Reasons for choosing the Brighton Pavilion Wedding Venue

The couple loved the idea of an elegant, beautiful setting but relaxed day for their wedding. They lived close to the Royal Pavilion and loved the lavish, over the top interiors. Romance and Regency elegance is in the very fabric of the Royal Pavilion and this along with the amazing Indian Style architecture and Chinese influenced interiors attracted Antonino and Caroline. They knew both their families would love it too! “we just wanted something intimate, relaxed and regal”.

Bridal Prep

I started the day with Caroline and her family at the couple’s central Brighton apartment. Caroline was relaxed and super happy that their wedding day had finally arrived, There were video calls from friends in Australia to enjoy and the excitement was building. I hung there for an hour or so, just enough time to catch the finishing touches of their hair and makeup. And then it was time for Caroline to put on her stunning dress. Caroline’s brother arrived in his mini to chauffeur his sister to her wedding. We were so close to the Royal Pavilion I put on a brisk walk and got there with time to spare. Just in time to capture Antonino and his family arriving.

Heartfelt Ceremony for the Brighton Pavilion Wedding

Ceremonies in the beautiful Red Drawing Room at the Brighton Pavilion cannot but help ooze elegance and a sense of grandeur and fun! The beautiful, rich red and gold tones lend themselves to the romance of the occasion. Stunning palm tree pillars and dragon wallpaper originate from the 1820s decoration.

The simple but beautiful ceremony was soon completed and it was time for the the couple and I to have a little explore of the beautiful Royal Pavilion for the first of their couple photos.

Spoilt for choice with the Couple Photos

Wow we were all spoilt for choice when it came to locations for their couple photos. First up it was the Music room itself. I continually get blown away with the amazing Music Room with its’ lotus-shaped chandeliers and flying dragons and palm trees on the drapes and walls. Grogeous! Just the perfect setting for two love birds like Caroline and Anotonini.

Second location. The weather was playing ball outside so we were able to go for a lovely stroll around the Pavilion Gardens to capture some wider shots of the architecture and some close ups of the couples. The couple clearly were so happy to be married with it showing in all of their photos. Relaxed, natural and in love. There was even some mushy but utterly romantic Italian singing and dancing on the terrace by Antonino! ?

Then on to the drinks reception in the King William IV room where the guests had been happily keeping themselves amused. After a lovely reunion and catchup for both families it was time to head off in David’s mini (this time plus me and my cameras, so it was abit of a squeeze!) The couple had a fabulous farewell outside the Pavilion as they departed in the mini. The beach front provided some refreshing sea breeze and a more couple shots. Then, our final stop for the day Brighton Harbour Hotel.

What a beautiful, heartful, loving day with the most gorgeous of couples. It was super fab capturing the two families and friends as they all came together to celebrate with Caroline and Antonino. Thank you so much for choosing me as your Brighton Pavilion Wedding Photographer. What a fabulous day full of loving memories.
