Perfect Combo: Brighton Wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse with Cher as special guest!

“Liza we’ve just had a look and they’re amazing.  Thank you so much for Saturday, there were so many complements from friends and family about how great you were at being able to organise, but yet also remain friendly and non intrusive – which is exactly what we’re were looking for. Thank you so so much for being there. We absolutely love the pictures, and the slideshow is so handy to be able to share and show people.”

Karl & Gyles

Local Grooms

What a pleasure it was shooting this gorgeous celebration for these two lovelies for their Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse day!

Karl and Gyles live locally in Hove and had a really good idea of how they wanted their Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse day to run.  They were super organised and very thoughtful guys with lovely little surprises for all of their family and guests during the day.  But more about that later.

They wanted a fun, relaxed day with natural unposed shots.  OK that does sound like me!  They told me early on that they were a little self conscious and not very comfortable about their photo being taken.  So on the day I told them just to enjoy their day and forget I was even there.   I kept an eye on timings and gave them little reminders when we needed to move on.

I always like just chit chatting as well with my couples to help them relax and feel super at ease.  It was also really helpful to have the catchup and chat on zoom a week before the wedding.  We went over all of the photography and wedding details.  I was able to reassure them that they had nothing to worry about photography wise.  All they had to do was have the best day of their lives. (and I think they did 😉).

Getting Ready

Karl and Gyles got ready with their best people.  They had booked a beautiful, high ceiling Airbnb right on the the Brighton beach front.  The grooms were super cool and relaxed getting ready.  Making time to enjoy this special part of the day.  We had time for a few quick natural portraits in front of the gorgeous huge windows and mirrors. After a few glasses of champers and final adjustments it was time to walk on over to the first venue for their Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse day.

The Brighton Band Stand – the dreamiest of ceremony venues

I was super excited when the boys said they had booked the Brighton Bandstand for their ceremony.  Along with the newly refurbished Seahorse – they had chosen the perfect combo for their Brighton wedding.

The Bandstand is a stunning and historic wedding venue located right on the vibrant  Brighton beachfront, bang smack within walking distance of just about everything in Brighton. The stunning structure of the Bandstand dates back to 1884 and has become a beloved landmark of Brighton’s seafront. With its ornate Victorian architecture and beautiful outlook over the turquoise sea, it provides the perfect backdrop for a truly magical wedding day. The Bandstand is licensed for civil ceremonies, meaning that you can exchange your vows and legally tie the knot in this beautiful location.

Top Features dreamy and the view…

One of the most striking features of the Bandstand is it’s stunning outlook over the sea. The striking turquoise colour, sea breeze and slight whiff of salt spray in the air creates an awesome aquatic vibe and feel for your wedding day.   For Karl and Gyles this felt a truly dreamy and very romantic setting for their wedding ceremony.  The sea view and Bandstand had the added bonus of providing a stunning backdrop for their group photos as well.  After the group pix were taken, everyone bar Karl, Gyles and me walked the short trot on to The Seahorse.  The boys and I then went for some super relaxed, unposed couple pix around the beach front, before wandering back to the Seahorse ourselves.

The Brighton Bandstand is a popular wedding venue, so it’s recommended that you book well in advance to secure your preferred date. The venue has a team of experienced wedding coordinators who can help you plan your dream wedding and ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day. They were extra helpful helping shift chairs along so we could take the group photos and setting everything up just as Karl and Gyles wanted.

Reception and Party at the new look Seahorse

If you are you looking for the perfect mix for your Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse.  Look no further than this perfect combo.  The Seahorse, previously known as the Brighton Beach Club has had a major makeover.  This new look venue has exciting times ahead and is the perfect spot for a beautiful Brighton Beach wedding.

Same as the Bandstand, one of the highlights of The Seahorse is it’s beautiful outlook. It makes for a perfect spot for wedding receptions.  It can also hold wedding ceremonies, if you want everything to be all in the one place. The Seahorse is a short walk from the Brighton Bandstand. Literally a 5 minute stroll.  It has a stunning new menu, made up of vibrant small plates and modern twists on classic flavours.

The Seahorse’s terraces and decks are reminiscent of ship decks, adding to the nautical theme that ran throughout this Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse day.  This all made way for some unforgettable wedding photos.

The wedding reception meal and the party afterwards were held in the large the downstairs “club” venue which is at beach level.  This actually opens up on the beach itself.  It is super close for any extra photos outside. With its stylish decor and ample space, it can easily accommodate 100+ guests.  It has a great sound system to dance the night away as well.

The Seahorse is an excellent reception choice for a Brighton wedding at the Bandstand combo. With its handy location, beautiful outlook, and unique features, it helped make the day even more unforgettable and looked stunning in the pix.

For the drinks reception guests were served Pimms and bubbles on the deck and terrace overlooking the West Pier before heading inside for speeches and Nandos inspired menu.

Balloons and Donuts!

Karl and Gyles had pulled out all stops with their decor.  The Darling Dove Balloon Company provided the magnificent balloon entrance.  The table seating plan and place names were drop dead gorgeous and beautifully designed.  All the tables were named after Karl and Gyles favourite female artists –  Cher, Diana Ross, Beyonce, Lady Gaga to name a few.

Their favours were amazing.  Each guest was given a special box individually named in beautiful wooden names with a shot and other goodies inside.  The guys had printed a gorgeous photobook for their closest friends as a memento…so special.

Let’s get this party started!

After the yummy Nandos (the guys favourite)and the amazing Sugar Lips Donuts.  Which almost looked too good to be true.  It was on to…. the fabulous Cher tribute act and more drinking and dancing.

Wow, what a beautiful day and fun time I had photographing Karl and Gyles Brighton wedding at the Bandstand and Seahorse.  It was a real pleasure to be with them all day and meet their lovely friends and families.
