Wow what a day! A gorgeous wedding by every measure. Brighton couple Stu and Katie had a lovely wedding day with 150 of their family and friends. It was a great day for two people who are beautiful – inside and out! This was one seriously fun, happy, laughter filled wedding – even though the tears were flowing freely at times as well! The venue for everything – ceremony, dinner and party was at Coombes Farm, Lancing. Coombes Farm is located within the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs National Park (designated an area of outstanding natural beauty) with stunning visitas all around. For two West Sussex locals like Stu and Katie – getting married a few miles from home was perfect.
The farm is a great place for a wedding, only a few miles from Brighton yet far enough away to feel you were really in the middle of rural England. The ceremony took place in the transformed barn. Gone were any signs we were on a farm and a beautiful flowing silk canopy sail filled the interior. The barn was decked out with vibrant pom poms, bunting, and photos of Katie and Stu. Katie and Stu’s theme was COLOUR and vibrant colour abounded from the lucious green of the hills to the electrifying lighting arrangements in the barn.
Katie looked simply stunning in her elegant flowing gown, with accompanying jacket that matched her new husband – Mr Purple! Katie looked amazing from every angle. Of course her hair was beautiful styled by Bev from Stone Hair Hove Stu and his groomsmen took their lead from Reservoir Dogs with each being issued a different colour tie and name. Mr Purple, Mr Blue, Mr Pink, Mr Orange and Mr Yellow – thankfully their colour sense were the only characteristics they adopted from their alter egos for the day!
Katie and Stu were keen to get some photos from the top of the farm and it’s amazing views of the South Downs. It was all part of the experience really being driven up to the top in a landrover! It was a tad windy up top but they braved the breeze to get some good shots. Then it was back to the barn for hog roast and cake! Best man Dave entertained everyone with his hilarious speech with – accompanying powerpoint and photos! After the cutting of the cake(s) including gluten free , it was time to …. get the party started! The face painters arrived and the music cranked up. Stu and Katie’s first dance was joined in by family and friends who couldn’t wait to hit the dancefloor.
Congratulations Katie and Stu – it was a pleasure to be part of such a special day.
