Places to get married in Brighton

Fab Brighton Wedding Venues

Ok wow!  This is a big one.  What fab Brighton wedding venues are there? What places to get married in Brighton are there?  We are so lucky down here on the South Coast.   Brighton has loads of super cool and versatile places to get married.  There is tons of choice, with a whole host of hotels, churches, pubs, registry office, the bandstand and even a rotating donut shaped viewing platform!!

Read on and I’ll tell you what my top 7 Places to get married in Brighton are.

Handy Location

I think one of the best things about getting married in Brighton is its location.  Brighton is just 50 miles down the road from the big smoke of London and handily located wherever you are in Sussex.   This makes it super accessible for guests and family to get to and you are pretty much always can be guaranteed a load of accommodation options from hotels/ air bnb/lounge sofa or maybe a tent in the back garden!

Mini Breaks in Brighton

You may discover once your guests hear that you are getting married in Brighton they will jump at the chance to turn your wedding into a long weekend and mini break for themselves.   Brighton hasn’t been voted one of the top 10 city beach break destinations in the world for nothing you know!

Some couples purposefully plan their wedding away from their local home area and what better place than sunny, quirky and very cool Brighton.  In Brighton, there is always loads to do, like fantastic live music, a fab gigging and arts scene and really pumping beachfront!  Of course, if you are a Brightonian looking to get married here then you have got it made!  You and your guests will have everything on your doorstep.

Stunning Beachfront and Seascape for Couple Portraits

When I am on the beachfront with my wedding couples, taking their couple pix. I have to stop and pinch myself because Brighton just rocks! Wow! what an awesome part of the world we live in!

It’s that part of the day, when you have just got married and you’ve had a quick swig of bubbles and then it’s time for some lovely pix of you and your new husband/wife. I like to take these couple pix in a really relaxed and fun way and really we just go for a wander along the beach and chat. Most couples love this quick half-hour break away from everyone and the time just flies and can be very romantic as well!) I am constantly reminded on these little wanders of what a truly stunning spot and fab place it is to get married in Brighton.

How lucky are we!

On one side we have the enormous sweeping backdrop of the turquoise sea contrasting against the golden pebbles of the dunes.  Sometimes when the tide is out you can even spot the sand and walk along it. The shoreline has so many different faces and voices. It can either be crashing down thunderously with foaming waves or be still and quiet as a pond.  The buzzing Brighton Palace Pier makes a beautiful backdrop day or night and is a great place to wander for couple pix as does the fast disappearing West Pier with its jagged black structure.  The nightly murmuration (aerial bird display) put on by thousands of starlings around the West Pier is an amazing sight.

Spoilt for choice for relaxed couple wedding pix

Every time I take my couples down to the promenade and beachfront for their couple pix, I manage to find different views and angles and backdrops.  It is constantly changing.  The Brighton seafront is massive.  It runs for about four miles from Hove Lagoon to Brighton Marina.  I have pretty much been up and down the lot of it.  Even on a busy summer Saturday there is always somewhere to go.

My Favourite Brighton Wedding Venues and places to get married

Ok here is the bit where I tell you about some of the best places to get married in Brighton.  I’ve narrowed down my list to 7 top venue contenders.   I’ve been lucky enough to shoot several times at most of them.  So in no particular order, these are my favourites.

The Grand

Hotel du Vin

Brighton Music Hall

The Royal Pavilion

The Bandstand

The Hilton Brighton Metropole

Brighton Beach Club

Lets go through them all one by one…as they are all great venues but for many different reasons, and it all depends on what you want and like.

Venue Number 1:  The Grand Brighton

Why it is a great wedding venue?

The Grand is a stunning, Grade II listed Victoria historic building which is seeping with Brighton history and old-worldly charm.  The door staff have gorgeous uniforms/suits made by Gresham & Blake.  The Grand has the most beautiful staircase in the city and the balcony suites for “getting ready’ are simply stunning.  A range of fabulous grand rooms to choose from depending on your numbers.  Wow! amazing views and super close to beachfront.  Luxurious and classy with the most friendly, helpful lovely staff.  I loveeee the Grand.

Nuts & Bolts:

Big beautiful grand spaces and small intimate spaces.  Any size wedding from 10 to 500 guests!

Location:

97-99 Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 2FW

Venue Number 2:  Hotel du Vin

Why it is a great wedding venue?

The gorgeous Dome Ballroom in the Hotel du Vin is a perfect venue for wedding ceremonies. It has pretty decent light and is super spacious with a stunning chandelier centrepiece and a real Brighton feel.  Just like the Grand, it is practically on the beachfront so really easy to nip out for couple pix and golden hour pix.  The Bridal suites are luxury at its best with gorgeous bathtubs, Egyptian linen, Nespresso machines and real style.  The twin roll-top bathtubs and 8ftx8ft bed are simply divine in the Loft Suite. Check out Abeni & Kane’s gorgeous Hotel du Vin wedding here!

Nuts & Bolts:

Three lovely spaces to choose from with numbers ranging from small and intimate to 150 guests.  Delish French-bistro inspired dishes and your own in-house wedding co-ordinatator.

Location:

Ship Street, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1AD

Venue Number 3:  The Brighton Music Hall

Why it is a great wedding venue?

The Brighton Music Hall is actually right on the beachfront!  It has a massive outside terrace space and free venue hire!  I love its quirky decor and real Brighton vibe.  Perfect for weddings that like to party.  Awesome nightclub feel for the party in the evening and you can’t beat that free venue hire.

Nuts & Bolts:

Free venue hire.  Seating 20-80 guests.  Late license until 2am.  Fully licensed for wedding ceremonies.

Location:

127 Kings Rd Arches

Venue Number 4:  The Royal Pavilion

Why it is a great wedding venue?

Well where else can you get to get married in a former royal palace that is so so cool and kinda kitsch?   The Grade 1 listed Pavilion was the playground for hedonistic Prince George who would throw massive 3 day parties at the Royal Palace.  This place is jammed with history and fantastic furniture and over-the-top decoration and art.  The music room with its breathtaking ceiling and chandler is the most amazing room to have your couple photos.  The gardens are stunning too, and if you get married the lovely helpful staff turn off the alarms and you can take photos on the terrace outside the music room or on the private Kings lawn. Have a look at Justin and Mikes gorgeous Royal Pavilion Wedding here!

Nuts & Bolts:

Free venue hire.  Two rooms are licensed for ceremonies the Music room and the more intimate Red Drawing Room.   So ceremony guests numbers from 60-90.  The Royal Pavilion also has the King William IV Room and the stylish Adelaide Rooms that can be hired for reception.

Location:

4/5 Pavilion Buildings, Brighton BN1 1EE

Venue Number 5:  The Bandstand

Why it is a great wedding venue?

An outdoor wedding, overlooking the sea….beautiful!  This Victorian Grade II listed building is stunning and with the sea as a backdrop it is a beautiful outdoor setting to get married.  The bandstand was restored in 2009 and is now a registered venue for ceremonies. You can also hire the downstairs Bandstand Cafe for your reception and they assist with dressing the bandstand, flowers.  The bandstand makes a gorgeous whole group shot for all your guests too!

Nuts & Bolts:

The Bandstand is available Wed to Sat for hire for your wedding ceremony.  It holds 50 people seated and an extra 30 standing.  There is even a backup plan to relocate the ceremony to the Bandstand Cafe just in case of bad weather.  It costs from £680 to hire and this includes chairs but not chair dressing.

Location:

Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 2FN

Venue Number 6:  The Hilton Brighton Metropole

Why it is a great wedding venue?

Whether it is a small or large wedding you are guaranteed an unforgettable location for your wedding.   The Hilton Metropole has 4 different sized rooms to suit any size wedding.   Romance, elegance fused with contemporary charm are words that come to mind with the Hilton.   The stunning views from the Chartwell Suite are truly amazing giving a 180 degree panorama  and this has got to be one of the best views I have experienced in Brighton.  The  magnificent marble staircase is also stunning.

Nuts & Bolts:

The Clarence Suite (a converted chapel) holds 180 guests and the equally impressive Ambassador Suite takes 150 but it is the spacious Regency Suite that can take a massive 250 guests!  My favourite room though is the Chartwell Suite, way up the top which can hold 50 guests  and is licensed for ceremonies.  Stunning views from the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beachfront and Westpier.

Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 2FN

Venue Number 7:  The Brighton Beach Club

Why it is a great wedding venue?

In a nutshell – the awesome location right on the beachfront itself, the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure it is a perfect day and the food – well it is simply sublime!  I’ve shot 3 weddings at the Brighton Beach Club and love it!  It makes nipping out for golden hour shots even simpler, guests can play on the beach and its kind of like you are on a boat in the middle of the ocean! The perfect seaside location.

Nuts & Bolts:

The upstairs room is registered for your ceremony and can hold up to 90 people.  The outside terraces make a perfect location for post ceremony drinks, then downstairs for the wedding breakfast and evening party in the recently renovated beach side level.  Its quite a large space and can hold 100 seated guests and another 100 later on for your party.  There is also an outside terrace area on beach level which is great for guests.
